Today I’m sharing my favorite makeup look for the month of October. Spotlighting my favorite red: the Kjear Weis KW Red lipstick. It’s simple and classic. The base makeup is the same in both looks but the lip colors are different.
kjaer weis kw red lipstick
LIPS: Here I’m wearing the Kjaer Weis lipstick in KW Red. This red is a classic crimson with a semi-matte finish. It’s a drier formula compared to most eco beauty lipsticks. In my opinion, it’s matte and your lips need to be hydrated beforehand. The formula is dry and I like applying it with a lip brush and retouching throughout the day straight from the bullet. The formula lasts all day! Even after I ate my food the lipstick was mostly still there. Didn’t leave the ring of doom on the inner part of my lip. I lined my lips with the Zuzu Luxe liner in cherry, but it wasn’t a true red. I’d like to get a true red liner in the future. KW recently launched new lip liners and there is a KW red in there. I may pick that up!
FOUNDATION: A few weeks ago I began wearing the KW cream foundation in the shade Just Sheer. Thus far it’s been phenomenal and lasts all day as long as I set it with powder. I have oily skin with hyper-pigmentation scarring and texture on my cheeks. This foundation covers my scars and helps blur the texture on my cheeks. I also used it as a concealer under my eyes, using my ring finger to blend it under my eyes. Foundation does come in a chic metal refillable case, but you can save money by buying the refill pan. The refills are all magnetic and can be stored in a z-pallete or any other magnetic case.
BROWS: Plume pomade in Cinnamon Cashmere. This pomade is fabulous for several reasons. Most important being that it’s easy to apply! I’m not an expert on brows and I’ve been growing mine out for over a year without plucking. It’s so hard sometimes, but this pomade is helping me tame the crazies. The formula has the Plume hair growing ingredients to strengthen the hairs and promote hair growth. The texture is more of a mousse soft feel. It’s slightly less pigmented than Ecobrow, but that makes it easier to apply imo. The ingredients are wonderfully clean and vegan. You are encouraged to look them over, just click the highlighted link above to read all about it. The color does pull a little red, but for me it’s perfect. The shade chestnut decadence is better for those that want a more neutral grey tone. No red at all in that shade. Side note: the pomade comes with a dual ended brow brush + spoolie!
EYES: Jane Iredale lash primer. The lash primer is a must-have for anyone with oily eyelids that cause smudging, flaking, or other unsightly mascara mishaps. The primer also add extra volume to any mascara you layer over it. Works with any mascara you like. I cannot recommend this enough. Followed with the KW mascara. The mascara is lengthening and the brush keeps your lashes separated, the formula doesn’t clump, and the brush is narrow allowing for east lower lash application. The downside is the lack of volume. I was able to build up 3 layers on top of the lash primer, but I still only got length. KW eyeshadow in Grace + Cloud Nine for inner eye highlight and brow bone. Grace is a cool toned taupe shade that works well as a crease color. It adds dimension to my eyes without looking smokey. Perfect as a 1 color shadow look that pairs with any lipstick. I especially love it for bold lipstick makeup looks.
CHEEKS: Gabriel Cosmetics blush Magical and Han bronzer. The Blush is matte and my new favorite powder blush formula!!! The color is perfect for fall and part of the new Gabriel fall collection. Blends easily, even on top of my cream foundation. Vapour Beauty Halo Illuminator highlight. I love Vapour as a whole, but this highlight is maybe a little too subtle for me. It gives a soft radiance from within glow, but less than the Living Luminizer that I wear everyday. This is for someone that wants a very subtle highlight.
Kjaer Weis lipstick in Brilliant
LIPS #2: The second lipstick is the KW lipstick in Brilliant. Photos don’t do it justice! A warm nude with a hint of apricot. Very opaque and velvety- matte as well. I feel very posh when I wear this lipstick. My husband even commented he liked it… very seldom does he ever notice my lipstick. Brilliant is a fabulous nude for anything with olive, tan skin. You could even use a dark lip liner, like Jane Iredale Nutmeg, to make it even more juicy lip goodness. P.s. how extra is the KW stamp on the bullet?!! I LOVE IT! Lipsticks do come in refillable packaging, so next time you only need to buy the refill that is significantly less expensive.
